The MJ rubber ring is a universally used sealing ring for ductile iron pipe joints in the U.S., featuring a 28° beveled cross-section and secured with a clamp connection. If the seal becomes inadequate, tightening the clamp screws will restore proper sealing. These rings can last for over 50 years—so even in excavated, discarded pipelines, the rubber rings still maintain excellent performance.
